[There's a clatter and a crash as something gets knocked over, journal falling open on the floor in the middle of the confrontation.]

[A smash and things fall quiet again.]

[Rachel has been one very happy camper this week. As soon as she decided that the park wasn't about to come alive and devour them or something like that - and as soon as Raine declared classes out for the week - she'd moved into the hotel. Living in the woods for a couple months before coming to Luceti has made her miss proper electricity and shower accommodations so much, and she's reveling now.]
[At the moment, she's relaxing in the spa after going for a good, long run on one of the treadmills in the exercise area and doing some laps in the pool, so she's feeling nice and happily worn out and not quite so snarky for once. There's a row of stuffed toys lined up not too far away (red-tailed hawk, wolf, tiger, gorilla, and a blue thing that people probably won't recognize) as she relaxes in the hot tub, listening to a CD player in complete violation of the no-electronics-near-water law.]
[Join her? Bug her? Whatever you want.]

[Rachel is in the library after school, her journal open in front of her, another, smaller book open next to it, and two or three more scattered on the table in front of her (and her egg nowhere to be seen). She bites her lip and runs a hand through her hair as she reads, occasionally writing something on the journal's front cover, where she doesn't think anyone will see it unless they look really closely. She doesn't think it transmits, but she could be wrong.]
"If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles."
"If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril."
"All warfare is based on deception."
"Opportunities multiply as they are seized."
"The purpose of all wars, is peace."
[and very small, at the very bottom]
"I want my friend to miss me as long as I miss him."
"Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?"
[Clearly someone's reading about war - and thinking a lot about it, if the quotes and the semi-frustrated expressions she's making are any indication. Finally she sighs heavily, pushing her hair out of her face and wishing she'd brought a ponytail holder, so involved in the actual reading-book that she forgets the journal is open.]

[So if anyone was paying attention during the experiment, they would have noticed a mostly unfamiliar man strolling around the main portion of the village, looking entirely too composed for the body-switching. That probably wouldn't have been out of the ordinary, except said man spent a large amount of time in the clothing stores and took "home" several more items than the average middle-aged man would. After selecting them with the attention to detail brought by a professional buyer at an upscale, expensive boutique. Shadow's wardrobe has been entirely refurbished, which he'll probably hate.]
[But not being able to fly for several days has been pretty hard, so she's just spent about an hour cruising over the forests as an eagle before heading for the square. Rachel lands in the middle and starts to shift out, just as barefoot as ever. She's planning on doing some shopping for herself, now - can't be going to school in the same outfit every day, after all.]

[Have a Shadow WITH NO MASK. So most people probably don't know who it is even if they do know him. Though "he" looks really, really, deadly serious about something.]
Whoever the hell has my body, I need to know NOW. Girl, sixteen years old, blonde hair, blue eyes.
I'm not kidding.
Least I can't say I've never been a human guy now...
[There is no way she's letting this experiment stick her as a nothlit.]

[Hello, Luceti.]
[There is now an elephant in your square.]
[Yes, an elephant. An elephant with tiny tiny wings.]
[Who is clearly pissed.]
< All right, whoever's in charge here has FIVE SECONDS to start explaining what's going on before I knock down a wall or four! >
[In reality, the elephant is a sixteen-year-old girl who's pretty damn scared, but she's not about to let that show. She'd had a job to do, and she remembers everything that came after that - and she knows she shouldn't be here, wherever here is. And she's yelling on the "open" frequency, so anyone within a reasonable distance can hear her, walls or not.]
